Yorkshire House_

This project explores the feasibility of building a house around the grounds and ruins of an eighteen century barn which is located in the corner of a field near the village of Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales. The restoration and contemporary extension of the structure forms a modern 4 bedroom property with clear distinctions between new and old.

A walled garden and sheltered seating area is created using a section of the walls of the ruined barn, this private and enclosed entrance area is over looked by the master bedroom which is located at first floor level.
