I’ve just returned from a very enjoyable week away in the south of France with my girlfriend Jess and two friends Natalie and Craig. Whilst we were away I took the opportunity to take some informal portraits in the beautiful grounds of the converted barn where we were staying.
I didn’t want to hall all of my camera gear away with me, the photos were therefore all taken with my one Canon DSLR and a my favorite lense, the Canon 24-70mm L lense.
The above two photos of Natalie were taken amongst the trees in the grounds of the converted barn, photographers may be interested to know that I shot the photos around midday which is some what no ideal when the sun is so high in the sky, that said I am fairly happy with the selection of photos.
I spotted some beautiful small pink flowers amongst the trees in the grounds and immediately asked Jess to lay behind them, I then lay in front of Jess and shot the above head shot. I I’ve shot something very similar before and although I don’t generally like to recreate shots I felt this shot was an absolute must.
